Therapy services

  • Drama & Movement Therapy

As a drama & movement therapist, I combine talking with creative exercises. Often, people find using creative methods help to reflect on their experiences and relationships, to process their thoughts and feelings, which then supports change. Some people prefer to only talk, and that’s okay. Every session is led by the client.

No drama experience or skills are necessary to participate.

Dramatherapy is an Arts Psychotherapy protected and regulated by the HCPC.

  • Online Therapy

Online Therapy ensures we are able to work together even if we are in different locations or unable to travel. Video call sessions combine talking with creative exercises and guided visualisations.

Online sessions will remain confidential as with face-to-face. For online therapy, all you need is a device and a private space.

Please note: I only see adolescents and adults for online therapy.

  • Walk & Talk Therapy

Some people prefer Walk & Talk to traditional therapy spaces, as it offers the client and therapist to connect side by side, rather than eye to eye, and share experience in walking in nature.

I have walking routes in Norfolk which I have carefully selected and risk assessed.

Please note: I only see adults for walk & talk therapy.

FAQs & Fees

  • People seek therapy for many different reasons. Some of the more common reasons are: anxiety, depression, existential questions, low mood, family issues, infertility, low self-confidence, pregnancy, relationship problems, stress, work-related stress, trauma.

  • I recommend weekly sessions as the continuity is important to the process and the therapeutic relationship. We can move to fortnightly sessions, if appropriate, after we have established a therapeutic relationship.

  • I will listen and ask questions, and support you to make decisions, but I will not tell you what to do. This can feel difficult to begin with, however I feel it’s important for lasting change, that you make the decisions and explore the thinking process with me, rather than following my advice.

  • I work from The Practice Rooms in Norwich. The space is quiet and calm. There is a toilet. Unfortunately it isn’t wheelchair accessible and my room is on the second floor. There are stairs and no fixed hand rail.

For walk & talk sessions, we meet at a country park in Norfolk. There is a car park, toilets and a café.

  • The first step is to get in touch with me. We will arrange a free introductory video call which will last 10-20 mins, where we will discuss your enquiry in more detail and I will try to answer any questions you might have. We may then plan some initial sessions, or, if you or I feel we are not the right fit, I will try to help you find someone who is.

  • I offer a free introductory video call (10-20 mins) to learn more about you and why you are seeking therapy at this time, to answer any questions you might have and to think together about how I can help.

    Session fee £67 - £87.

I also offer a limited number of low cost spaces.

If you feel therapy would help but you are intimidated by the cost, please do get in touch anyway as we can discuss your situation and how I might be able to help.

Past client testimonials

“Kathleen has a warm and supportive presence, allowing me to do the work while she facilitated it, asking the right questions and nudging me in the right direction. No pressure, very laid back and friendly, but perfectly professional. A true gem!”

“Kathleen made the process very easy and accessible. I always felt comfortable in the sessions and left feeling listened to and respected.”

“I made a lot of progress in the year I spent with Kathleen and am very glad to say I am doing much, much better. I have a better toolkit to evaluate and address issues now than I had before.”

“Kathleen made the process approachable and welcoming even when the personal discovery felt overwhelming to begin. Her care and approach to each session felt tailored and encouraged me to explore, understand and give myself empathy.”

“I would recommend Kathleen to anyone looking for a therapist. Her approach helped me a great deal and her experience is apparent.”

“I have been continuing the skills that’s we practiced together and have more confidence to trust my feelings and experiences and self in day to day life.”

“Therapy is hard! And often frustrating. When there's a problem or a conflict, it's natural to just want it to go away, to be fixed, to stop afflicting you. Therapy helps with navigating those difficulties, so I'm glad I took the time to tend to myself in this way.”

“Initially I wanted my therapist to just tell me (or make suggestions) for how to approach things, but her way is more to ask questions that help you find your way yourself. I think she thought I was capable of finding my own way, so she guided me towards ways of finding my own way towards my own way. She often would say, "You did all the hard work," and that kind of validation was really critical to what I think were some successful outcomes of my time in therapy.”

“Our sessions flowed with ease even during difficult moments Kathleen was understanding and allowed me the time I needed to express myself. I always felt I was in a safe space.”

“My self awareness has developed so I'm able to process triggers in a better way”
